Ryeland was born in Devon and raised in Cornwall which is in the South West of England. From a young age Ryeland was always interested in music and from his early teens he developed a keen interest in music production. Over a few years he played around with different sounds and started to get more and more into music technology and the processes required to make the sounds he loved.

Kris decided to learn more about the art of music production and enrolled at his local college for a Creative Sound & Engineering course. After completing this course in two years he then studied for a further 2 years at university. After graduating from university at the age 21, Kris spent his time producing new music and working on remixes to play in his live sets, as well as dj-ing live sets around the country under various different names. After experimenting with a lot of different styles and genres, making tracks under a variety of different aliases the style of Ryeland was born. An Electro house influenced trance sound that incorporates many different genres, including tech house, electro and techno.

Ryeland has just launched his new label 'Ryde Music' which will be showcasing some very exciting new music from Ryeland and friends. With lots of great release lined up the first 'Ryeland – Wonderland' is available to buy from the 15th April 2011. Kris is also working on another label project 'Loco-Motus Records' with long term friend and college 'Carleto'. The pair have big plans for this brand, bringing you the freshest tech house rhythms and funky grooves!

Prior to the 'Ryeland' project, Kris has been lucky enough to play for brands such as Ministry Of Sound, Pacha, Planet Love (Northern Ireland) as well as appearances at major festivals and clubs all over the world. From playing at venues as colossal as Sydney Olympic Stadium in Australia to lapping up the sun rays in Amsterdam at outdoor festivals to crowds as big as 20,000 strong. Kris has had extensive tours as well as played at events in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Ibiza, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England.

With a hoard of great tracks lined up, an artist album about to drop and big support from some key players in the scene today... Ryeland is a name you be hearing a lot more of in the coming months.
